Vocab Clinic was developed by people who have studied Arabic like you to fill in the gaps that your classroom experience cannot always fill. Maximize your educational experience with Vocab Clinic!

As a visitor to Egypt, you will enjoy the astonishment and happiness that you create in Egyptians you meet when you are able to speak words or phrases to them in their own language! Unlike speakers of some other languages, Egyptians love hearing Arabic spoken by "foreigners", and having a basic repertoire of Egyptian Arabic to use will make your visit more enjoyable, relational, and authentic.

If you are an Arabic teacher, or represent an institute that teaches Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, you will find Vocab Clinic a great resource to offer your students! Vocab Clinic has not been designed to compete with Arabic language programs or tutors, but rather to supplement and help them, as well as to reach some types of learners that are more difficult for traditional programs to reach (such as business professionals, tourists, etc.).

As a professional, attending Arabic classes can be challenging, given the demands put on your time and energy by job, family, transportation, and adjusting to a new city, culture, and climate. You want to learn some essential Arabic to help you get around, and to differentiate yourself from the tourists, but just can't find a convenient place in your schedule for it.

Note...

It is not as difficult as people make it out to be. You CAN learn it!

Arabic has received a reputation for being difficult because of the “medieval” conceptions of Arabic language learning/teaching that have not changed much over the 1400 years that Arabic has been an international language. With modern approaches to language learning, however, Wilmsen claims Arabic is not so difficult…“especially if students begin with the spoken [colloquial] language.”
